Kala Jeera Rice

This is a small, aromatic, non-Basmati rice variety, often called “baby basmati” or the “Prince of Rice.” It is called kala jeera because of its black paddy (though the milled rice is white). It has delicate aroma, unique taste, and fine texture. This rice cooks easily and is used for various dishes, including kheer and biryani.

Traditionally, it’s believed to have medicinal properties, including improving memory, controlling diabetes, and increasing hemoglobin levels.
